STEEL SHEET PILES
Steel sheet piles are the types of structural sections with a vertical interlocking system known as clutches along both edges of the section, through these clutches, each pile section is engaged and connected together and create a continuous and impervious wall in and above the ground. The walls are used to retain soil or water most of the time.
Sheet piles can be driven into the ground by vibratory or impact hammer. The pile can transfers pressure from the high side of the wall to the soil in front of the wall. The ability of a sheet pile section to perform is dependent upon its geometry and the soils it is driven into.
Sheet piles can be used temporarily or permanently. Permanent sheet piles serve as permanent retaining structures and will remain in the ground after erection. Temporary sheet piles are designed to provide short term structure retaining to control soil or water so to allow permanent works to proceed, the piles can be removed after serving the purpose.
There are two major type of piles, U shape and Z shape. Both of the shapes come in variety of the sections with different thickness, width and height. To meet individual project requirement, we also provide HZ,OZ, Straight web pile and trench pile based on different geological condition and project design needs.
The advantage of using sheet piling includes cost saving, safe and functional construction and environment protection. Application of the sheet piling is wide-ranging and it keeps widening. Our products have been used for :
- Site excavation, underground car park, building foundation, noise protection wall
- Bridge abutments, pier foundation and dock construction, foreshore development, berth facilities
- Flood protection, road and ramp building, stormwater retention
